What: Minnesota Zoo Celebrating Grand Opening of Major Bug Exhibit

Details:
1) The exhibit will be creeping and crawling with thousands of bugs including: North American butterflies and moths, a working colony of leaf-cutter ants, millipedes, centipedes, land crabs, arachnids, scorpions and zebra cockroaches.
2) The event will feature the world’s largest spider as well as tarantulas.
3) Learning opportunities about the impact bugs have on the world complement the visual and entertaining aspect of the exhibit.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: The butterfly garden will feature 600 free-flying butterflies and moths in their natural cycles of feeding and resting, with some butterflies first emerging as adults. Photographers are also welcome to capture the other various bugs throughout the duration of the event.
Available for Interviews:
The zoo director and a Minnesota entomologist will be available for interviews at the zoo’s entrance after the zoo and exhibit close at 5 p.m.
